Pedalclavichord 17th century
In the 17th and 18th century organists depended upon the pedal clavichord for practice and study purposes. People, needed for the air supply for the organ, where only present during services, feasts or concerts.
Dick Verwolf made a replica of this keyboard instrument, dating from the second half of the 17th century. The pedal section is a reconstruction. The original keyboard instrument is part of the collection of the museum of musical instruments in Leipzig.
This instrument is most suitable to interpret the works of Sweelinck, Scheidemann, Ritter and Buxtehude. The keyboard and pedalsection can be extended.
